Bayfront Tower was the first “waterfront” condo in downtown St Petersburg, Florida. Built in 1975, it has nearly 250 residential units and 11 commercial units. The units on the east side of the building have magnificent views of Tampa Bay. Units range from 1,146 sq ft for a 1 bedroom unit up to 3,673 sq ft for a double unit. Bayfront Tower is unique in having its common areas on top of the building, on the 28th and 29th floors, so every resident can enjoy 360 degree views, from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico, sunrises and sunsets. Also unique to the building is the valet parking, which is included in the maintenance fee.
400 Beach Drive Condos
400 Beach is a luxury 29 story condominium with 93 residences, located on Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg. It was built by Opus and completed in December 2007. Tower units range from 2,400 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft are either 4 to a floor (floors 5-23) or two to a floor (floors 24-28) with a penthouse on the 29th floor. All have balconies and water views. Elevators are programmed to open only to your own residence. The amenities are on the 4th floor and the pool deck has views of the Vinoy Basin and Tampa Bay. City residences are on the 2nd through 4th floors, starting at 1,570 sq ft. The ground floor is retail space along Beach Drive and the entrance to the condominiums is on the west side, on Bay Street.
The Cloister of Beach Drive Condo was the first of the “new” condos along Beach Drive, a 14 story building with 32 residential condominiums. A group of local businessmen developed the project, which was completed in 1999. The first floor is retail and includes Market Express, a market/deli/coffee shop with inside and outside dining. The second floor is common area, with a lap pool on the terrace overlooking the Museum of Fine Arts, Straub Park, the Vinoy Basin and Tampa Bay. In addition to a small fitness center and the common rooms, there is a guest apartment which owners can reserve. Each unit has a balcony, but the balconies are small. Floors 3-12 have 3 condo residences per floor, all with a common lobby foyer, and each of the top two floors is a penthouse unit. Secured covered parking for two cars is provided for each unit.
The Florencia, a luxury condominium on Beach Drive in downtown St Petersburg was developed by JMC Communities, a high quality local builder. Built in 2000 it is 21 stories high and has 49 residential condominiums and there are two retail stores on the ground level. Each unit has two spaces in the gated, covered garage. The primary common areas are on the third floor and include gathering rooms, a catering kitchen, a billiard room, a fitness center and 1 condo unit. Floors 4-19 have three units per floor (except for two double units) and each of the top two floors is a penthouse. The pool and spa are on the west side of the tower, with gardens on the south side. The adjacent Hampton Inn provides spillover space for your guests. There is a 24 hour concierge on duty.
Ovation is a luxury condominium in downtown St Petersburg. Completed in 2009, it has 42 tower residences (only 2 per floor, with penthouses having entire floors) and 3 city residences, in 27 stories. It’s location at the corner of Beach Drive and 2nd Ave N is in the heart of downtown, with superb water views, and a short walk to restaurants, marinas, museums, shops, colleges, parks, and more. Built by quality developer JMC Communities, this is in a prime location. The three city homes range from 2,346 sq ft to 3,372 sq ft. Tower residences range are 3,660 sq ft and there are two per floor. Two of the floors have combined units, with 7,320 sq ft each. The four penthouses have 5,329 sq ft each.
Condominiums are one of the newest high rise condominiums in downtown St. Petersburg. The first condos were sold in June 2009 and all of the units have been sold. At 36 stories (with 244 condos), it’s the tallest building in St Pete. It’s architecturally unique, shaped like a sail, and every tower unit has a view of Tampa Bay. Designed by Ralph Johnson , the building is truly a signature for Johnson and for developer, Joel Cantor. Signature Place condo units range from 846 sq ft to 5,883 sq ft. Amenities include a swimming pool and hot tub with spacious “grounds”, a fitness center and two common rooms. Each unit has covered, secured parking. There is a concierge on duty and a management office in the building.
Parkshore Plaza is one of the luxury condominium towers on Beach Drive in downtown St Petersburg. The 29 story tower was completed in the summer of 2006. There are 117 condominium residences which include 96 units in the tower and 21 townhomes or cityhomes. There are generally 4 units per floor, all corner units and all with a view of the water. Units include 2 parking spaces. A concierge is on duty in the secured lobby. Most of the amenities are on the 3rd floor: a fitness center, library, billiard room, gathering and card rooms with a catering kitchen, and an inviting pool area with a spa, a grilling area, and an outside fireplace. Retail shops are on the ground floor as well as the popular Parkshore Grille which offers both inside and outside dining.
Vinoy Place Condominiums are the only downtown luxury condominiums that not only have a water view, but have a view of the downtown skyline. Vinoy Place is located on Fifth Avenue NE between the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Vinoy Park. The Vinoy Place condos also known for their large wraparound balconies. The 102 condominium residences consist of 4 towers (13 stories each) and 10 townhomes. The first two towers were completed in 2001 and the second two towers in 2002. There are two units per floor in each tower, with elevators that open to each unit, so foyers are individual rather than common. Each tower is topped by a penthouse which has the entire floor. Condos range in size from 1,670 sq ft to 5,359 sq ft with an average size of 3,094 sq ft. A gatehouse is staffed round the clock. There are two swimming pools and the main recreational facilities are located on the second floor of Tower 2: common gathering rooms, a catering kitchen, a television room, a billiard room, and terraces. There is currently no fitness center, but many residents are members of the Vinoy Club, which includes use of the fitness center at the adjacent resort. Each unit has two assigned parking spaces and there is additional guest parking.
